Job first, feature count second
G11 is the focused measurement path; Y9 is the consolidated troubleshooting path.
The products are not higher and lower versions of one tool. The published G11 case is a dedicated meter with nine selectable wavelengths. The published Y9 case is one housing for optical power measurement, visual fault location and RJ45 cable-sequence testing. The right shortlist depends on the work you actually bill for.

Choose G11 when
Your primary task is optical power measurement, the published 1270, 1577 or 1625 nm selections are relevant, and separate fault-location or copper-test tools are acceptable.
Choose Y9 when
Basic optical power checks, a VFL and RJ45 wire-sequence testing belong in the same service visit, and the supplier will identify the exact Y9 configuration in writing.
Choose neither yet when
You need independently verified accuracy, a current calibration certificate, a fixed detector and range, or a guaranteed service and repair turnaround before ordering.

| Buying question | GUANGYAN G11 Optical Power Meter | GUANGYAN Y9 Optical Power Meter, VFL and RJ45 Cable Tester |
|---|---|---|
| Primary published role | Dedicated optical power meter | Configurable all-in-one field troubleshooting tool |
| Published functions | Optical power measurement | Optical power measurement, 650 nm VFL and RJ45 cable-sequence testing; mobile functions are listed as optional |
| Published wavelength evidence | 850, 980, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577 and 1625 nm | The official manual lists selectable reference wavelengths, but the delivered range and configuration must be fixed by SKU or quotation |
| Main buying advantage | Focused workflow and a published nine-wavelength set | Fewer separate tools for basic fiber and RJ45 troubleshooting |
| Main evidence gap | Range, accuracy conditions, detector, calibration and runtime are not normalized on the reviewed product page | Model name alone does not fix range, VFL power, battery, adapters or mobile options |
